Spring School Hols - Tues Sept 29th
Wondering what children do at Enchanted Childhoods?
Enchanted Childhoods programs carefully balance both planned experiences and child-led unstructured outdoor play. Our experiences are selected based on their capacity to support children's holistic development and ability to inspire children to think and play in new and creative ways. During free play, our providers step back and children are empowered to problem-solve, take risks, and develop complex play schemes. All of our programs are designed to build gross and fine motor skills, support the development of a healthy vestibular system, and foster play-based and experiential learning, team-work and creativity.
Spring Holiday Program
Our Spring Holiday Program will focus on igniting our imaginations and creativity as we head 'back in time'.
- Day 1 – We'll explore how people lived, made things and got what they needed before modern shops and technology. Children will have the opportunity to create their own village homes and stalls, create goods to trade and exchange, learn to build fire and utilise a flint and steel, and prepare food using traditional methods.
- Day 2 – We'll continue our journey back in time to explore Australia in the Pleistocene. Before people lived here, a rich array of megafauna called Australia home. Today our explorers will get to assume the role of young paleontologists as we search for hidden fossils and unearth the clues of the creatures like the Diprotodon who once roamed these lands.
Along the way, we’ll enjoy child led play, create nature-inspired crafts, and explore our beautiful farm and bushland space. There’s something for everyone — from sensory seekers to animal lovers to daring adventurers! There will also be ample opportunity for free play, exploration, and children to follow their own interests in our beautiful natural surroundings. We look forward to coming together as a community beside the campfire, learning through play and sharing fun and laughter each day.
Who are the team?
At Enchanted Childhoods, we have a small and dedicated team who facilitate each program. We have diverse professional backgrounds including health, education and conservation psychology. What unites us is a passion for seeing children outdoors in sensory-rich natural environments that support their health, happiness, and well-being. All of our team have a current DCSI clearance for working with children and have completed first aid training. We have a maximum ratio of 8 children to every adult, with a maximum of 32 children per session.
What time?
Enchanted Childhoods holiday programs run from 9am to 3pm each day.
What do we need to bring?
We are a fully outdoor program so please bring suitable clothing for the daily weather conditions, and (at least) one full change of clothes to allow for new clothes after water/messy play. Children should also bring a labelled water bottle, lunch, morning and afternoon snack.
